Plan A Lady'S Wardrobe

The key to planning a lady's wardrobe is to have basic items that can be mixed and matched for all occasions. It is better to be slightly overdressed than to be under-dressed for events. Change the look and feel of wardrobe pieces with accessories.

Instructions

1. Purchase two to three blouses. Select blouses in neutral colors to match other items in the wardrobe. Choose blouse sizes slightly larger than the perfect fit, to allow room for future size changes.

2. Purchase one or two knee-length skirts in navy or black. These match blouses and remain fashionable when skirt lengths change.

3. Buy one printed jacket to go with solid skirts and shirts. The jacket dresses up the outfit for formal business events and evening events.

4. Add a pair of formal slacks in a neutral color to wear with the blouses and printed jacket for conventions, business meetings and evening events.

5. Select a black dress for evening wear, formals and other occasions. All ladies' wardrobes need at least one black dress.

6. Buy two pairs of shoes for each season. Use lighter colors for warm seasons and darker colors for colder seasons.

7. Select and purchase three to five accessory sets in bright colors and patterns. Accessories dress up and change the basic outfits.
