Install A Bifold Mirrored Door

When it comes to placing doors on your closet, laundry room or even a storage area, bi-fold mirror doors are a good choice. These doors come in a variety of style and sizes and are adjustable for those closets that may be a bit out of plumb.

Bi-fold doors can make the room look brighter and bigger, while allowing you easy access to the closet behind them. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Put on all protective gear.

2. Measure your existing door opening to make sure the new door you buy will fit. Measure the width and height with a measuring tape. Do this from finish drywall to finish drywall.

3. Install the bottom track first on the floor by screwing it directly into the floor. Install it somewhat loose, so it can be adjusted later. Use a cordless drill and screw bits. Use a level.

4. Run a plumb bob from the center of the bottom track to the top where the upper door track will sit. Mark the upper track location on each end of the door opening and in the middle. This will now give you three points to help level your upper track and make sure it's plumb with the lower track.

5. Install the top track loosely just like you did the lower track. Use the cordless drill and screw bits to do this.

6. Hang the door from the top track. All the hardware for bi-fold mirror doors are already installed on each door.

7. Tilt the door back slightly and install the bi-fold mirror door onto the bottom track. Now tighten down on the screws on both the upper and lower track that you previously left a bit loose.

8. Read the instructions on specifically adjust the door unit up or down. Use a level when you do this. Typically, a screwdriver or two is all you need to make any final adjustments.
