Diy Closet Dividers

Closets have a tendency to become overstuffed and hard to navigate. Take a tip from your favorite clothing store and organize with hanging closet dividers. Inexpensive to make, whip up a set for the whole family in a weekend. Clothes dividers with baby clothing sizes on them are a fun DIY gift for a new mother as well. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Paint wood door hangers with acrylic or spray paint. Paint one side, allow to dry, then paint the other side. Door hanger signs are available unfinished from craft stores.

2. Use a paint pen to write the size or type of clothing you are dividing on both sides of the divider. For children sharing a room, writing their names on their dividers is one way to offer them their own space in the closet. For a growing baby, write clothing sizes so you can stock up and know where everything is. In your own closet, write articles like pants, tops, skirts and dresses to help you organize your wardrobe. You could also write the days of the week to help you or a child get a jump on the week with prechosen outfits.

3. Slip an 18-inch length of ribbon through the hole in the top of the divider. Tie the ribbon around the closet pole in a bow. Alternatively, if the closet pole is removable, remove it and slide the dividers onto it. Place your clothing hangers behind the appropriate divider.
