Make A Hanging Shower Organizer

Make a Hanging Shower Organizer

A terry cloth hanging shower caddy puts all of your shower essentials within easy reach. You make this shower organizer from a basic hand towel, which means that it dries well and is easily washable if any of your shampoo or shower gel spills in the pockets. Customize the look of your shower organizer by selecting a towel and ribbon that coordinates with your decor. This organizer can be hung at the top of the showerhead or on the shower curtain rod.

Instructions

1. Form a channel for the dowel rod by folding the top of the towel over 1 ½ inches, pinning in place and sewing.

2. Turn the towel so the seam from the channel is facing away from you. Drop down about five inches from the top and make a fold in the towel, pulling it up against itself. This pleat will be the top row of the organizer. Pin it in place.

3. Create the second row of the organizer by again dropping about five inches and making a fold. The bottom of the towel will be at the bottom of the organizer, over two layers of towel. Pin it in place.

4. Secure the pockets by sewing both sides of the towel. Don't sew across the channel for the dowel. Create the pockets by sewing two seams that divide the width into thirds.

5. Put the dowel rod through the channel. Tie the ribbon at the ends of the rod and hang.
