Decorate A Water Closet

Decorate your water closet to be a relaxing space since you will, inevitably, spend a chunk of your time there. Some people consider the entire bathroom the water closet, while others refer to a small, enclosed room featuring only a toilet as a water closet. Either way, what you see when you sit on the toilet can ultimately have an effect. Decide on a color scheme or basic theme that soothes you and keep that in mind as you decorate. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Place a rug in front of the toilet. It can be any shape or color, as long as there is something soft under your feet when you use the water closet. This helps incorporate color and make you at least a little bit more comfortable as you relieve yourself.

2. Decorate the wall or door that you look at as you sit on the toilet using a picture. The size of the picture should be determined by the size of the open space in front of the toilet. Choose a soothing picture, like a garden, flowers, the ocean or whatever images relax you. The colors in the picture should coordinate with the rug and other colors in the room.

3. Place a potted plant on a shelf above the toilet, or use a large plant in the corner on the floor. The plant, even a silk plant, will likely "liven" up the room, making it feel more comfortable.

4. Create a small candle arrangement in a spot where it's safe. Use small votive candles in glass containers or a three pillar group in a shallow container with pebbles, stones or colored glass depending on where the candles are placed. Set them on a shelf, counter or on the top of the toilet. Lighting scented candles may relax you, or keep the bathroom smelling fresh.
