Craigslist provides sellers an easy way to list their items for free on this hugely popular Web site. Clothing can be easily listed by sellers who have large or unique inventories or by sellers who simply want to clean out their closets by unloading a few items. Here's sell clothing on Craigslist.
Instructions
Create a User Profile
1. Go to Craigslist (see the link in Resources below) and log in. Note that If you don't have a free account, you will need to create one.
2. Click "My Account" whether you are logging in or creating a new account.
3. Click the "Click Here to Sign Up" link if you are creating a new account. Otherwise, enter your user name and password and skip ahead to the next section.
4. Enter your email address and type the mystery word provided to you in the cross-hatched box.
5. Click "Create Account."
6. Check your email for a confirmation from Craigslist.
7. Click the link in your email to set a password and log in to your newly created account. Be sure to agree to all terms and conditions.
List Your Clothing Item(s)
8. Go to the Craigslist home page and click "Post to Classifieds."
9. Choose the "For Sale/Wanted" link.
10. Choose "Clothing & Accessories" as your next sub-category.
11. Select your local area from the list provided.
12. Post your ad by giving it a title, description and images (optional). Click "Continue." Your ad will be posted immediately.
Sell Your Clothing
13. Negotiate with interested buyers for a fair price.
14. Arrange for a mutually beneficial pickup time and place for you and the buyer in a public location during the daytime. Or arrange shipping details if the buyer is out of town.
15. Accept only cash or money orders as payment for your clothing. Never accept cashier's checks or personal checks because they can be easily counterfeited, and your bank will hold you responsible for the funds.
