Create More Hanger Space In The Closet

Not all hangers are efficient uses of space. Padded and wood hangers, in particular, take up a lot of room. But if you don't want to replace all your existing hangers, expensive space-saving hangers or downgrade to plain wire hangers, you will need to increase the amount of hanger space in your closet. The best way to do this is to buy a doubling closet rod to go under the existing one. Make sure not to have the second rod throughout the entire hanging space in order to leave room for longer garments. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Hang one of the vertical bars of the closet rod on your existing closet rod.

2. Hang the second bar next to it and slide it to a width that you want your second rod to be.

3. Hook the horizontal rod onto the two vertical rods at the desired height, leaving enough room above so that you can fit the garments while not hanging it so low that anything drags on the floor of the closet.
