Measure A Wood Louver Door

It's easy to measure a set of wood louvered doors.


Whether your remodeling a home or just updating the look of a room, you may need to replace or repair doors. You'll need to know the door measurements to get an accurate price quote from a supplier or repairman. The average do-it-yourselfer can accurately measure a wood louvered door with just a tape measure, pencil and paper. Knowing what dimensions are needed is the hardest part of the job. Instructions


1. Open the door or the set of doors and measure the width of one door. Hook the tape measure to the outside edge of the door and pull it straight across to the other side.


2. Note the measurement and measure and mark the width of the second door, if there is one.


3. Hook the tape measure on the bottom of the door and pull it straight up to the top edge. Read and note the measurement for the door height.


4. Measure the depth of the louvered door. The typical interior door is 1 3/8 inch and exterior doors are 1 3/8 or 1 3/4 inch deep, unless they are custom built.
