Build A Movable Closet

Building a closet is a project that many homeowners have taken on over the years. However, building a movable closet is a little bit different. If you have built a closet before, then you are already knowledgeable enough to build one that is movable. A movable closet has many uses, and one of the most common is moving laundry from the ironing board to the bedrooms. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions


1. Place the 2-by-4 lumber on a worktable. Form a rectangle by placing the 25½-inch pieces between the two 26-inch pieces and secure them with the 3-inch drywall screws.


2. Measure over 3 inches from the 26-inch side of the rectangle and make a mark on the 25½-inch 2-by-4. Drill a hole me in this place for a caster to be installed. Repeat this for the other three corners of the rectangle.


3. Turn the rectangle over so the holes are facing down and apply glue to the top edges. Place one of the 28½-by-26-inch plywood on top and secure it with the 1½-inch drywall screws.


4. Place the two pieces of 26-by-72-inch plywood on the worktable. Measure down from one the end and make a mark at 18 inches, place the framing square on the mark and draw a line across the 26-inch width.


5. Secure the rectangle assembly to one end of the 72-inch plywood with the 1 ½-inch drywall screws. Apply glue to the 26-inch edges of the remaining 28½-by-26-inch plywood and install one at the top and one on the line drawn in Step 4. Secure these with the 1½-inch drywall screws.


6. Lay the movable closet down so that ¾-inch edges are facing up. Apply glue to the edges of the plywood and secure the 30-by-72-by-¼-inch plywood to it with the 2d box.


7. Turn the movable closet over, install the hinges on the two14¾-by-72-inch pieces of plywood according to the manufacturer's instructions and install the doors onto the closet. Install a closet rod inside the closet according to the manufacturer's instructions. Install the casters.
