Remove Cabinet Doors With European Hinges

European hinges, often called "concealed hinges," have been become increasingly popular in the past two decades for their quality and design. An added feature is that they allow the adjustment or removal of a cabinet door without affecting the door's alignment. Whether you are replacing a door or refinishing the cabinets, when it becomes necessary to remove a cabinet door equipped with European hinges, it's a simple procedure to complete. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Move the door to be removed to the fully open position.

2. Support the door with one hand and use a screwdriver to loosen the small adjustment screw at or near the end of the extended lower hinge arm by turning the screw counterclockwise approximately two to three full rotations. This screw is typically set in an elongated slot.

3. Repeat Step 2 for the upper hinge, then push the door inward to slip the hinge arms from the hinge mounting plates and remove the door.
