Different Uses For Closet Shelves

Thread on shelves

Many people use their bedroom closets for clothes and shoes. Hall closets often have coats, umbrellas and hats in them. Bedding and towels store well in linen or bathroom closets. But closet shelves are also good for storing other things. Does this Spark an idea?

Sewing supplies

Sewing supplies take up a lot of room if they are not properly organized. Plastic boxes with lids or shoeboxes are useful for storing thread, needles, bobbins, scissors, measuring tapes, seam rippers and patterns. After labeling the boxes, they fit nicely on closet shelves.

Books

Closet shelves are good places to store books you want to keep but don't read very often.

Clothing Accessories

A cardboard box divided into sections usually stores shoes. Put one of these boxes on your closet shelf to store wallets or small purses, gloves and scarves.

Cables and Cords

Cables and cords for phones and electronics take up a lot of space. A plastic bin on a closet shelf is a good place to store them.

Kitchen Pantry Overflow

Closet shelves are excellent places to store overflow items from your kitchen pantry. If you find items you use often on sale and don't have space to put them in your kitchen, closet shelves provide additional storage space. For boxed items, make sure you put them into a lidded plastic container to keep out pests.
