Interactive Room Design For Kids

Children love to display their works of art.

Kids love to be busy. They're bursting with energy, creativity and have colorful imaginations. Interactive room designs help to stimulate their young minds into creating works of art, imaginative games and thoughtful ideas. Innovative furniture, wall murals, creative themes and designated room zones contribute to an interactive room design for a child. Kids enjoy being in a room that sparks their creativity, while making them feel safe, happy and relaxed. Does this Spark an idea?

Walls

Wall murals created by applying removable stickers provide an entertaining way for kids to participate in creating their personal, interactive room designs. Mural themes incorporating sports, race cars, dinosaurs, pirates, fire departments or submarines spark a young boy's creativity. A fairy princess, unicorn, sea animals, dolphins or rainbows may trigger the imagination of a young girl. Chalkboard wallpaper, dry erase decals, themed wall stickers and magnetic paint offer inexpensive ways to enhance a child's interactive room design.

Furniture

Innovative furniture creates a room environment that helps a child interact with his room design creatively. Movable tables, beds and chairs on wheels give children the opportunity to move furniture out of the way when a larger play space is desired. One-piece custom furniture engineered with a variety of angles and surfaces incorporates hidden compartments and passages with spaces to sleep, climb and play. Multifunctional tables accommodate the creative artist, skillful block builder or an afternoon tea party host.

Floors

Specialty flooring or rugs enhance a child's interactive room design. Colorful, interlocking foam mats provide a channel for creative design, and when completed serve as a cushioned surface for absorbing falls. Whimsical, creatively designed area rugs encourage learning and imaginative play. Children's rugs incorporating farm animals, the alphabet, geometric shapes, numbers and maps make learning interactive and accessible. A football field, playhouse, musical chairs or racetrack rug provides a surface for innovative playtime.

Areas

Create specific areas in a child's room to accommodate distinct activities. A quiet area might consist of a small table and chairs for reading, coloring and crafting. Nearby bookshelves filled with books--plus baskets of crayons, pencils, markers and other craft supplies--are conveniently located nearby. An open area can encompass a large space in a child's room where he can spread out toys and games for creative and imaginative play. Small push toys, musical instruments and drums, and clanging fire trucks might make up a noisy area.
