Instructions
1. Paint the closet walls in a soothing color, such as a light blue, green or pink, or a bold color, such as fuchsia. Alternatively, hang wallpaper with a decorative pattern. For example, a diva-style dressing room might include images of lipstick or nail polish, while a luxury dressing room might include a damask or soft floral pattern.
2. Install a shelf system with plenty of hanging space, shelves for sweaters and shoes, along with baskets or drawers to hold lingerie, jewelry or other items you want to keep in the dressing room, but don't want to display.
3. Add a vanity table and bench if there's room. If not, a small ottoman or chair will add to the dressing room feel. Use a high-heel- or lips-shaped chair if you're going for a diva look.
4. Accessorize the room with decorative hat boxes, which can double as storage containers, a mannequin wearing your favorite outfit or by displaying interesting clothing and jewelry pieces. Alternatively, hang framed pictures from your favorite fashion magazines.
