Cabinets add storage space to a home office.

Instructions

Home Office Cabinet Design

1. Choose where the desk will be located in the home office. Placing the desk against a wall is often the best way to make use of the available space in a room.

2. Place a cabinet equal to or slightly shorter than the height of the desk on one side to serve as a place to set things down. An area such as this one is good for placing food and drinks, keeping it off of the desk but still at arm's reach.

3. Place several tall cabinets along an open wall in the office to maximize storage space. This provides a uniform design to the office and keeps things from becoming cluttered. However, the cabinets do not have to be matching in height; varying height can add interest to the design is d cor is added atop the lower cabinets.

4. Place a cabinet beside the entrance of the room as a place to set things down upon entering. A low, wide cabinet is best for this purpose.

5. Add decorative accents atop the cabinets that will not be used as a place to set things down upon. Examples are decorative fabrics, statues and photographs.
