Have A Beer Pong Tournament

Beer pong is a great game that can be enjoyed by anyone over the age of 21. Tournaments guarantee a chance for everyone to play and a relatively fair fight. This game can frequently be found at college parties, football tailgates, any random party and some bars in NYC. This game can be played with teams of two or single players.

Instructions

1. Collect 1-10 dollars from each player. Place all the money in a cup and set aside. This will be the prize for the winning team.

2. Choose teams.

3. Make a tournament diagram on a large piece of poster-board. If you do not have a large piece of poster-board and a marker, a regular piece of notebook paper and a pen will do. Make the diagram as shown:

4. Find a long table. A ping-pong table works great. You can also obtain a piece of plywood at the local lumber yard. Find a piece of wood about 3 feet wide and about 8 feet long. The wood only needs to be sturdy enough to support the weight of about 6 beers. Then, make a long table by placing the piece of wood on a smaller table. If you can't fit an 8 foot piece of wood in your car, you can buy two pieces of wood 3 feet wide and 4 feet long. Then, place both pieces of wood together on a smaller table. Support the table by placing two dumbbells, at least 8 pounds, on both tables. The dumbbells should hold the two pieces of wood together by having one side of the dumbbell on each table. If you choose to make the table out of two pieces of wood and two dumbbells, remember not to lean on the table for any reason.

5. Set up the cups in a pyramid formation at both ends of the table. The pyramid should have four cups at the base. The base of the pyramid should be on the edge of the table. Also, next to the pyramid formation at both ends of the table, place one cup about ½ filled with water.

6. Distribute about two beers into each pyramid of cups.

7. You and your teammate will be team A at one end of the table. Team B will stand across the table.

8. Take two ping pong balls for each team. Each player on each team gets one turn. Team A goes first. Throw the ball from your end of the table and try to "sink it" into one of team B's cups of beer. If both players on team A make their shots, then team A gets to go again. If one player misses a shot, then team B takes a turn. If team A "sinks a shot" into one of team Bs cups, them one member of team B must finish the beer in that cup and set it aside.

9. Throwing rules. If you bounce the ball on the table before it goes in the cup, the other team has the option of catching the ball. If you must bounce the ball, then distract the other team before you throw the ball so they do not have a chance to catch the ball. You can distract the other team in any manner you wish.

10. Blowing rules. If the ball hits the rim of the cup and starts to whirl around before it goes in, the other team has the option to blow on the ball to stop it from going into the cup. Prepare to blow hard to get the ball out of the cup.

11. Once your team has sunk the ball into at least 4 cups, you have the option of rearranging the other teams cups. This makes it easier to sink the rest of the balls. Rearrange the cups to recreate another, smaller pyramid.

12. Winning the game. Let's say team A has sunk all the balls into team Bs cups. Team B then has one more chance to win. Each player on team B can throw the ball towards team As cups until one player misses. If team B makes all the shots, then team B "wins". If team B misses one shot, then team B must finish all of team As beer.

13. Next, set-up the pyramids and distribute the beer into the cups again. The next two teams plays another round. The winners from each round then play each other. The champion team wins the pool of money.
