Deodorize A Home

There are a million different ways to naturally scent your home and keep old food smells and musty or pet odors at bay without using harmful chemicals. Here are several quick and easy alternatives. Does this Spark an idea?

Deodorize a Home


1. Place cloves, cinnamon sticks, Allspice or other favorite scented spice in a pot of water and simmer for 1 to 2 hours.


2. Put a few slices of left-over orange or lemon rinds in a pot of water and simmer for 1 to 2 hours.


3. Place baking soda in an open container of your choice. This works well for closets, refrigerators and other small enclosed spaces.


4. Lay out 2 or 3 slices of white bread in the refrigerator to absorb odors.


5. Place lemon slices in an open bowl in the kitchen.


6. Place unscented kitty litter in a shallow bowl to absorb room odors.


7. Place a shallow cup or bowl of white vinegar out on a table to rid room of odors.


8. Place a shallow bowl of charcoal in a room to rid the room of odors.


9. Simply light a match for a few moments or burn a candle (scented or unscented). The flame from either will "eat up" bad smelling gases in the air.


10. Pour vanilla extract into a shallow dish and set in an out of the way place.


11. Add a couple of drops of your favorite essential oil to the inside of the cardboard toilet tissue roll. With each turn, fragrance is released into the room.
