Maximize Clothing Boutique Space

Maximizing your boutique space increases profits.

Boutiques are small shops where fashionable -- and usually original -- pieces of clothing and other types of accessories are sold. This type of store relies on the repeat business of local customers in order to keep the business thriving. Since this is a major part of a clothing boutique's success, it is vital to maximize the space in your store whether you have a limited amount of space to work with or simply wish to set the store as an inviting display.

Instructions

1. Set up mannequins in the display windows at the front of the store, ensuring they are wearing the latest fashion items you have to offer.

2. Place all clothing that is in-season at the front of the store, directly behind the mannequin display. Although the space is small, this is a convenience to customers. Once the mannequins grab their attention, customers walk in the store and are able to find immediately what they are looking for.

3. Keep the middle of the store open. Too much clutter makes customers feel overwhelmed, and they might have a difficult time finding pieces they like.

4. Display all out-of-season, or older clothing, toward the back of the store near the dressing room. This location allows customers to get a glimpse of other items you offer while they are on their way to try on the in-season clothing they found in the front of the store.

5. Keep all intimates in the back of the store alongside the older clothing.

6. Display all jewelry and other clothing accessories, such as belts and hats, by the register. This location is ideal due to the fact that customers have the chance of adding the final touch to the outfit they are about to purchase.
