Hang An Assortment Of Ties In A Closet Without A Tie Rack

Hanging ties in the closet is the best method of storing them.

There are two ways to store your ties to protect them from damage, wrinkling and the harsh effects of sunlight. The first is to roll them up and place them in a drawer. This method is harder to maintain and provides less visibility than hanging them in your closet, which is the second and best method for storing your ties. If you hang ties in the closet, you don't have to unwrap them all to see how they will look with the shirt you are wearing. Hanging also allows the fabrics to breathe, reducing the chances they will smell like the wood of your dresser drawers, or worse, the glue used to assemble the drawers. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Place the tie with the suit you wear it with most. If it only matches one suit, this is the best way to keep tabs on the tie and will save you time whenever you wear it. This is the most convenient way to store special ties that you do not wear every day. Cover the suit or shirt and tie with a dry-cleaning bag or garment bag to protect them from dust.

2. Remove an empty clothes hanger from the closet.

3. Ensure there are no sharp edges, breaks in the plastic or other hazards that can snag the ties.

4. Untie the tie so that it hangs straight and wrinkles will not form in visible places around the neckline. Hanging it flat will also provide you with a smooth surface to tie the next time you wear it.

5. Hang your ties on the hanger, without overlapping, so that each tie can be removed individually. You can use a separate hanger for each type of pattern or color. If you only have a few ties, they may all fit on one hanger.
