Paint Sliding Closet Doors

Closet doors take a great deal of abuse over time since they are opened often. Because of this wear and tear the paint will either wear or begin to fade. If this is the case the removal and painting of the doors is a very simple project. The most time will be spent allowing the doors to dry. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

Painting Sliding Closet Doors

1. Remove the closet doors. To remove the doors slide one out about six inches. Lift the door from both sides. Since the rollers on the door are in a track they will lift out of the groove and come right out. Be careful because they may be heavier than expected.

2. Place both doors on the saw horses. Wipe them with a damp cloth to remove any dust. Allow them to dry.

3. Paint the doors with a 4-inch paintbrush. You will only paint one side and the edges. Allow them to dry overnight if you can.

4. Turn the doors over and paint the unpainted side. Allow them to dry overnight. When the doors are dried hang them back in the closet. Follow the same process you did when you removed them. Place them above the track and then lower them into their guides.
