"Poptropica" is an online, single-player game for children between 6 and 15 years old. In "Poptropica" you travel from island to island, performing a wide variety of tasks for the islands' inhabitants. One such island is Counterfeit Island, where your quest is to capture an art thief determined to steal a prized painting from the island museum. To do this, you must enter the museum's many rooms, including a locked supply room whose door proves difficult to open unless done so under a very specific set of circumstances.
Instructions
1. Locate the museum by walking toward the right side of the island. Click on the museum door to enter. Speak to the security guard standing beside the door as you enter. Inform the guard of your desire to work at the museum, and the guard will direct you to speak to the museum curator.
2. Walk to the left and take the stairs up to the second level of the museum. Speak to the curator at the top of the staircase. He'll hire you to move four misplaced paintings throughout the museum's four wings.
3. Go to each wing to retrieve a misplaced painting and move the painting to the correct wing. Click on the paintings that appear misplaced to grab them. They will differ greatly in style from other paintings. Take the misplaced impressionist painting from the cubism wing to the impressionism wing by clicking on the painting in your inventory. Move the expressionist painting in the impressionism wing to the expressionism wing. Grab the realism painting from the expressionism wing and drop it off in the realism wing, and finally move the cubist painting in the realism wing to the original cubism wing. Return to the curator.
4. Speak to the curator a second time to get the job. Follow him to the forgery detection lab. Speak to him once you reach the lab for instructions to begin training at a lab station. Click the first station desk to begin with the X-ray device. X-ray paintings until you see one with a drawing under the painting. Select this as the real painting. Look at the signatures located in the painting corners, aided by a magnifying glass. Choose the painting with the different signature as the fake. Perform the picture test by clicking on the dark side of the moon where you can see that it is the fake area of the picture.
5. Move to the second testing station for the chemical analysis test. Click on a paint sample and drop it into the analysis beaker. Wait for the red bar to move across the bottom and light up a color square. Quickly click on the beaker containing that color, continuing until you've clicked on all four squares. Repeat the process for each of the three color samples. After completing the sample tests, the curator gives you the key to the supply room.
6. Leave the forgery lab and walk to the right. Follow the signs to reach the statue room. Enter the statue room and walk left, following the signs to the security office with the supply closet nest to it. Open your inventory and use the supply room key to open the door.
