Laundry closets can be kept tidy with a few simple steps.
Your laundry closet is often the place where loads of clothes are stored, even after they've finished washing. Whether you have lots of space in your laundry closet, or are working with limited room, there are a few things you can do to keep the area orderly. Does this Spark an idea?
Size
If your laundry closet doesn't have much space, it's best to keep the area organized by taking clothes to their appropriate rooms after they've been washed and dried to avoid clutter. For larger laundry closets, adding a clothing rack to the wall can provide a space for clothing that needs to be ironed or altered.
Function
Include a few functional items in the laundry closet to make the space more efficient. For instance, hooks on the back of the door can be used for garments that should be hung dry. Shelves installed on the back wall can also be used to store laundry detergent, dryer sheets or additional hangers.
Considerations
If you have a compact laundry room, it may be best to purchase a washer and dryer combination that can be stacked on top of one another to make the most of the space. Storing the laundry hamper in the laundry closet works well for a spacious closet; the hamper should be stored in the bedroom closet or bathroom for smaller closets.
