Get Rid Of Mold & Mildew In Closets

Get Rid of Mold & Mildew in Closets

One of the worst feelings is to find mold growing on the walls of your home. You can get rid of it, however. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. First clear out the area around the mold. You will want to ensure all of your valuables are protected when you treat the wall.

2. Seal the area as well as you can. You will need it ventilated, but you also do not want any mold spores to get out while you are cleaning the area. Make sure any pets and children are out of the area before you start.

3. Look around the walls. Are there cracks in the wall that could be allowing moisture in? If so, you will need to fix those before continuing or all your hard work will be for naught.

4. Now you can wash the area with a solution of clorox (or generic bleach) and water. 1 part clorox to 5 parts water is a good ratio. Use rubber gloves and wear a mask while doing this. Clean a wider area than where you see the mold growing.

5. Allow this to fully dry. Repeat the above step again.

6. Allow to fully dry. Now you can use your Kilz primer. This will cover the area well. Remember to paint a larger area than where you saw the mold.

7. Cover the kilz with whatever type of paint you wish.
