If you're tired of your mudroom looking like a pig sty, why not build yourself some mudroom lockers. They're easier than you might thing and they will turn a pile of junk into a cool, individualized area. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Make these cuts:

3 pieces @ 18 inches x 70 inches

4 pieces @ 16 1/2 inches x 18 inches

2. Sand all surfaces.

3. Lay (2) 70 inch pieces on their 70 inch long 3/4 inch wide face. Span the tops of the pieces with (1) 16 1/2 inch x 18 inch piece. Do the same at the bottom. Make sure the pieces are flush front to back and on top and bottom. You'll now have a 70 inch long, 18 inch wide and 18 inch high box.

4. Add shelves. Measure down 12 inches from the top and 12 inches up from the bottom and attach the 2 remaining 16 1/2 inch x 18 inch pieces. Again, be flush.

5. Attach the back. Lay the remaining piece on top of the face down box. It will line up with both sides, the top and the bottom. Attach.

6. Edgeband all exposed edges.

7. Fill in all holes with wood filler and sand smooth.

8. Paint or stain to your liking.

9. Attach hooks for jackets, bags, etc.

10. Install the lockers by screwing them to wall studs and to each other.
