Wire closet shelving is an efficient way to organize the stored items in your home. Luckily, you can clean wire closet shelving with little hassle and in little time. Instructions
1. Spread an old towel out on the floor of the closet to cover the entire floor area. Spray down the wire shelving with degreaser, starting at the top and working your way down, until all of the shelves are coated in degreaser and may be dripping. Let the degreaser rest on the surface of the wire shelves for one to two minutes.
2. Wipe the degreaser from the wire with the soft side of the sponge, removing dirt and dust. Start at the top shelf and work down. Use the rough side of the sponge on particularly greasy areas, using more degreaser if needed. Be careful not to scratch into the surface of the wire shelving but just remove the stuck-on grease. Continue wiping down the shelves until they are all cleaned.
3. Fill a spray bottle with clean water and spray down the shelves from top to bottom once more to cleanse away any remaining cleaner. Wipe the shelves with a clean cloth or washcloth to remove excess water from the wire, especially around the joints.
