Install Shelf Brackets Using Drywall Anchors

There's generally never enough storage in a home or garage, but this is a problem that can easily be remedied. Installing bracket shelving is a simple way to add much needed storage to a pantry, bathroom or garage. Put up shelves using drywall anchors to be sure they are secure. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Measure the shelving brackets. Mark your walls so that the brackets is level and even. Make small pencil marks on the desired location where the brackets will be installed on the drywall with an anchor.

2. Choose heavy duty drywall anchors to hold up shelving for pantry, garage or other heavy duty storage places. Look for the pounds of weight each anchor holds, listed on the packaging. A good heavy duty drywall anchor should hold about 90 pounds.

3. Use drywall anchors that can be drilled directly into the wall. Attach a hand drill with Phillips head to the anchor and slowly drill it into the wall in the correct position.

4. Hold shelf brackets in place after all anchors have been installed. Use a screwdriver to secure the screws into the drywall anchor through the shelf brackets.

5. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for each shelf bracket. Slip shelves into the brackets on the wall.
