Franchise Leasing Options

After a significant investment, you could lease your own franchise.

Leasing a franchise from an existing business can be attractive for several reasons. Perhaps best of all is the name recognition factor; customers often feel safer dealing with a business whose name is already out in the marketplace. While many of the most visible franchise options are for fast food restaurants, you have plenty of other options.

Fast Food Franchises

McDonald's, as Franchise Direct points out, was not the first franchise business. It remains one of the most successful, however. McDonald's wants franchisees who have already operated successful business and are willing to participate closely in the day-to-day operations of their restaurants. Subway had 33,479 restaurants in 92 countries as of 2010. The company requires prospective franchisees to complete an application and agree to financial disclosure. Both of these are commonplace parts of a franchise application procedure, which may take seven months.

Car Repair Franchises

Car-X offers the opportunity to help drivers keep their cars on the roads. As a franchisee, you would offer a full range of auto repair services. You and your mechanics would perform routine oil changes in addition to replacing brakes and recharging air conditioning systems.

Hospitality Franchises

As a Hampton Inn franchisee, you would operate a hotel as part of a large, national chain. While your visitors would receive the standard services expected at most hotels, you will also be able to entice them to stay with the benefit of programs such as Hilton HHonors. This program allows customers to earn airline miles with each stay.

Tax Preparation Franchises

April 15 is a stressful time for many Americans. If you operate an H&R Block franchise, you benefit from the presence of the 12,000 other outlets in the country. "Entrepreneur" magazine ranked H&R Block as the No. 6 franchise for 2010.

Convenience Store/Gas Station Franchises

Operators of an ampm convenience store franchise attract customers with a specially targeted inventory. The company typically carries the basics, but calls its stores "snack-food theme parks" because of their extensive hot and cold food selections to satisfy Americans who are always on the go.

Hair Salon Franchises

Supercuts, part of the Regis family of brands, claims to resonate with "the smart, cost-conscious male market." Instead of dealing with perishable food products, you instead provide customers with the skilled services of the stylists you hire.
