Custom Entertainment Center Cabinet Ideas

You can have a hand in the design of your cabinent

Store bought furniture is usually made of cheap materials, and the styles may not fit in to your overall scheme of things. However, a custom built entertainment center cabinet can really add to the ambiance of a room. The wrong style, or the wrong design will detract from your overall enjoyment of the TV room. Also, electronics components comes in a variety of sizes, and may not fit in well in the spaces provided by a off the shelf cabinet. By having a custom built cabinet, you can get an exact fit, with the right look, and at the right price. Does this Spark an idea?

Antique Reproductions

Suppose the furniture your TV room has a 1700s colonial era look. A European modern cabinet would stick out like a sore thumb. By contacting a furniture designer or a member of a woodworking trade association, you can get a design straight out of a museum, with dimensions to fit your TV and other electronics. More than likely it will have doors to conceal the electronics during non use, since George Washington and Ben Franklin never had a DVD player or a flat screen.

European Modern

If your TV room has a European modern look, then the opposite would be true. An antique reproduction would be out of place. Again, by talking to a qualified furniture designer or shop, you can get exactly the cabinet you want. Invite the Designer into your home, to measure the components for an exact fit.

Corner Cabinets

Suppose you want your TV and ancillary electronics (such as DVD players, etc.) to be in the corner of the room, angled in, and you can't find an off the shelf cabinet. A custom shop can design for you a cabinet that will fit exactly into the corner, yet still be able to fit in your electronics perfectly. Furthermore, it will be in the style you want, such as antique or modern.
