Organize Your Clothes Closet In One Hour

Go through your closet to remove clutter.

The bedroom closet is one area of the home that's often cluttered and packed full with items. Since not everyone has an unlimited amount of time to spend organizing, speed-cleaning tactics help you get the job done in as little time as an hour. In order to get the closet completed and allow you to get on with the day, focusing on the task is one of the most important steps in speed cleaning. Once you have the closet organized, daily maintenance will prevent it from getting cluttered again. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Schedule a specific hour of time to organize the closet. Take care of anything that may distract you during cleaning so you give your undivided attention to the closet. Avoid stopping once you begin, as it's harder to get back on track after a distraction.

2. Stand in a central location of the closet so you can easily reach more than once place without exerting much energy to move. Reserving your energy will allow you to work efficiently and complete the closet within the hour.

3. Start at the top of the closet and work your way down to the floor. Focus on a specific area of the closet, and don't move on until that area is complete. Fold seasonal clothes, place in plastic bins and store them on closet shelves or along the floor.

4. Separate clothes into three piles: keep, donate or throw away. Analyze each item of clothing to put it in the correct location, and then replace all of the clothes you want to keep back into the closet.

5. Reduce clutter in the closet by adding a shoe organizer to the back of the closet door. A shoe organizer allows you to free up valuable floor space and easily find and reach the shoes you want. Install hooks into the closet wall to hang belts, scarves, costume jewelry or ties for easy access.
