Auction Box
There are many things you can spend time doing while playing World of Warcraft. You can chat with your friends, run into dungeons and Instances, or run raids on enemy forces. You can quest or look for items to further your skills and occupations. One activity that is very interesting is auctioning. Just like eBay, World of Warcraft allows you to take items you don't need and auction them off, in the hope that you can get more money than what vendors are willing to give you.
Instructions
1. Go to a major city. If you are Horde, the major cities are Thunder Bluff, Undercity, Silvermoon City and Orgrimmar. If you are Alliance, the major cities are Stormwind City, Ironforge, Darnassus and Exodar.
2. Ask a guard for directions. To find a guard, look for a well-armored character and put your mouse over him. If the mouse turns into a scroll with an X on it, he's a guard. Right-click on the guard and click on Auctioneer. The Guard will put a yellow arrow on your mini-map and a red flag with an exclamation point (!) on it in your world map.
3. Find the Auctioneer. If you don't want to ask a guard for directions you can simply right-click on the lowest circle on the left hand side of your mini-map. A list of search items will pop up. Scroll down to Auctioneer and left-click on it. The auctioneer will show up as a coin on your mini-map when you get near him or her.
4. Talk to the Auctioneer. Right-click on the auctioneer and a box will pop up with search options for things you may wish to bid on. At the bottom of the box, there will be three tabs. Click on the :Auctions" tab to start auctioning.
5. Right-click on the item you wish to auction. This puts the item on the auctioning box with a suggested starting bid. If you want to change the starting bid, just click on the boxes with gold, silver and copper on them and set your own starting bid. You can also set a buying price that anyone can use if they do not feel like actually bidding on the items. Before you create the auction, you have a chance to choose whether you want it to last 12 hours, 24 hours or 48 hours. Choose the desired amount of time and click on "Create Auction" once you are ready to auction off the item.
6. Now you have to wait until the item sells. If you set a buying price, someone might buy the item before auction time is up. Once someone purchases your item or the auction ends without the item being sold, the money or the items themselves will be mailed to you. If you have new mail in your inbox, a mail icon will appear to the right of your mini-map. Go to the nearest mailbox and see how much you've made. You can also check on the status of your items by talking to an auctioneer and clicking on the "Auctions" tab before the auction ends.
