Organize A Wardrobe For Fall

Organize a Wardrobe for Fall

Most people organize their wardrobes with the changing of the seasons. In the fall, it is necessary to have a few good pairs of fitting pants, long sleeved tops, layering pieces, shoes to replace our summer flip-flops and a warm jacket. The following are tips for organizing a wardrobe for fall. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Browse through your current fall wardrobe. Pull any outfits or pieces that you think you will not be wearing again. Put those pieces in a pile. Then begin to pull out pieces or outfits that may not fit anymore. Put them in a separate pile.

2. Try on any pants or shirts that you are unsure of the fit. If they do not fit, add these to the pile of clothes that you do not want. Donate the pile of clothes to charity, give to a friend or family member, or try selling them on Ebay or at a garage sale.

3. Shop for replacement items such as new pants or tops. Be sure that you have a few pairs of pants that can be worn for work or other special occasions. Buy a few new tops to freshen up your wardrobe for the season. Be sure that you have a few long sleeved shirts, or layering pieces that you can wear for when it's cooler in the mornings, but warms up later in the day. Try to stay away from popular trends, and purchase pieces that you can wear for another season.

4. Hang fall clothing ensembles and pieces towards the front of your closet. If you have room, try to hang your pants on the bottom or pair them with tops to create outfits. Any parts of your fall wardrobe that you can wear for comfort around home, put towards the back or fold into a drawer. Keep work related or special occasion clothing towards the front end of the closet. Store any summer or spring related clothing towards the back or in storage containers.

5. Be sure to inspect any sweaters or any other pieces of fall clothing that need dry cleaning or special care. Make sure none of your sweaters have any holes, pilings or snags. Hand wash items that call for it on the clothing tags. Have your items freshly dry cleaned for the fall season as well. Look to see if any of your dress shoes for fall need polished or clean too.

6. Inspect your jackets for fall. Try on jackets to see if they still fit, and also inspect for any rips, tears, snags and zipper breakage. Have cleaned if necessary. Replace as needed.
