Organize your baby's dresser.
A new baby brings blessings, laughter and joy to your home and heart. After preparing for the arrival of the newest addition to your family, you may find dressers and closets bulging at the seams. Shower gifts, hand-me-downs and new purchases add to the overwhelming task of keeping it all organized. Tackle one thing at a time and focus on organizing your baby's dresser once and for all to reduce stress that comes with every day, and emergency, clothing changes. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Separate all clothes into piles. Designate a specific pile for items such as pants, shirts, onesies and socks. Arrange by size and style. Set aside seasonal clothing and clothing that no longer fits. Donate clothing in good condition that no longer fits to local charities or friends and family members with younger children.
2. Designate a drawer for each type of clothing. Place items used the most often in the top drawer for easy access. Consider the need for a drawer for sleepwear, shirts and pants. Use the bottom drawer, or drawers, of the dresser to store clothing that is currently one size too big. Move new clothing into drawers as it becomes necessary, due to baby growth or changing of the seasons.
3. Fold clothing and place in drawers. Arrange clothing in a manner that allows you to easily locate shirts, pants and onesies. Stagger folded clothing from the back of the drawer to the front of the drawer. Lay one piece of clothing towards the back of the drawer and place the next piece of clothing on top with the top section of each item showing for easy recognition. Repeat until all clothing is placed in a designated drawer. Refrain from over-stuffing drawers.
4. Use baskets. Place baskets on top of the dresser. Use these for socks, hats and hair accessories. Consider keeping baskets near the dresser for additional purposes. Use one for new clothing that needs placed in the dresser. Use additional ones for clothing that you no longer have a need for. This helps prevent crowding of the dresser drawers with items that are no longer necessary.
