The Best Way To Put Up Shelves

Install shelves in closets to make better use of the space.


The best way to put up shelves is by using a wire shelving kit. These shelves are versatile, can be moved to suit your organizational needs and are easy to clean. You can install them in your kitchen, pantry, play room, bathroom or closet. The wire shelves rest on supports that lock into wall brackets with slots so you can adjust their height as needed. The wall brackets are installed in wall studs to make the shelving sturdy. Does this Spark an idea?


Instructions


1. Slide a stud finder across the wall where you wish to locate the shelves. Mark the wall at each indicated stud location using a pencil.


2. Measure from one stud over 32 inches to the another stud using a tape measure. Studs are located 16 inches apart on center. Mark both studs. These are the studs where you will install the wall brackets. Measure up from the floor and mark the wall at each selected stud where you would like the bottom of the wall bracket to be.


3. Position each wall bracket at the marked studs. Find the bottom ends of the brackets at the marked height from Step 2. Mark the mounting hole locations onto the wall for each bracket.


4. Hold one bracket in place against the wall. Drive the included screws through the mounting bracket into the wall stud with a screw gun. Follow the same procedure to fasten the second wall bracket in place.


5. Pivot pairs of shelf supports into corresponding slots in the wall brackets at each height where you would like to put a shelf. Lock the shelf supports into place by pressing downward until they click.


6. Slide a wire shelf over each pair of shelf supports and snap the front into place over the ends of the supports.
