Install A Bedroom Closet Organizer

The type and size of bedroom closet organizer you need varies, depending on the size of your closet and your storage needs. For some closets, you may need only a few shelves and a bar for hanging clothing. In others, you may need small cabinets, shoe organizers and garment bags. Assess your space and needs before purchasing anything. Choose an organizer that is easy to install and inexpensive, such as one made from metal. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Arrange the brackets on the wall in a manner that allows you to fit as many shelves in the space as possible. You need to use a bracket on each side of the shelves, so space them slightly closer together than the width of the shelves. Use the level to make sure the brackets are even. Mark with a pencil where the screw holes are on the wall. Set the brackets aside.

2. Drill a hole in the wall at the marked areas. Make sure the drill bit is wide enough to make a hole big enough to fit the anchor, but not so big that it does not secure itself.

3. Push the anchors into the wall. Place the brackets over the top of the anchors and drill a screw through the holes and into the anchors to secure them to the wall.

4. Attach the shelf supports to the brackets at the heights where you want the shelves. Each shelf needs a pair of supports, so make sure you position the supports at even heights.

5. Cut the shelves to the right width, if necessary, using either a hacksaw or the bolt cutters. Place each shelf horizontally across the supports.

6. Add a shoe storage shelf or bin if there is space and slide a small chest of drawers or cabinet into the closet.
