Choose Bathroom Cabinets

The right bathroom cabinetry can enhance a bathroom.

There are a number of factors to consider when choosing bathroom cabinetry such as material, color, placement and purpose. Having a vision and plan that entail what you want can be extremely helpful. Make the process of choosing cabinets fun by stepping outside the box and selecting designs that are atypical. Whatever cabinet you choose, make sure it enhances the overall bathroom. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Consider how the bathroom cabinets will serve you. Purchase smaller space-saving bathroom cabinets if you are using the cabinets primarily for style and design. Buy the larger, sturdier cabinets if they will be used frequently. Place the sturdier cabinets in the bathroom with the most traffic. For a busy bathroom an all-in-one vanity cabinet is more suitable than a separate storage or countertop piece.

2. Install the aesthetically pleasing cabinets with the elegant designs in the bathroom with the least traffic like the guest bathroom. The cabinets in the guest bathroom will probably endure longer since they are not used as often. Select high-quality cabinets such as a stone countertop or a cherry wood cabinet for a more refined look.

3. Choose bathroom cabinets according to who will use the cabinets. Consider factors such as body size, age and physical capabilities. If there are several elders in the home, place the cabinets so there is minimum reaching. Buy cabinets with slow-closing door hinges if there are several small children in the home.

4. Consider the benefits of the cabinet you choose. Choose a cabinet that complements the design and color scheme of the surrounding bathroom furniture. Make sure the cabinets match the color of the walls and wallpaper. If your bathroom is decorated in many stripes and patterns, a solid cabinet color will bring balance to the bathroom. A bathroom cabinet can accentuate what you already have.

5. Purchase bathroom cabinets according to the taste of your family. Ask everyone what cabinet color, patterns and materials they think are appropriate for the bathroom. Jot down notes so that you remember the details of what they think.
