Donate Women'S Suits In Los Angeles

Donoations help those who are less fortunate and is a great way to help those in yor community.

Helping those in need is an admirable act of selflessness that we should all engage in at some point in our lives. Simple donations of food and clothes really help those who are less fortunate or have fallen upon hard times. There are many ways to make donations with the simplest being to locate a center that helps those in need and give items from your home you no longer need or want. You will never feel better about giving to a total stranger because you can rest assured that your unwanted items will go to good use

Instructions

1. Locate the suits that you no longer need or wear. Inspect them for holes, missing buttons, loose threads or stains. Empty pockets, and check for personal possessions.

2. Wash or dry clean any dirty clothes you may have. Never take dirty clothes to a shelter. The facility may not have the resources to clean items before giving them to someone who needs them.

3. Iron the suits. The women who will be receiving them will more than likely use it for job hunting or a gathering that requires clothes she cannot afford to buy, in which case the clothes would need to be pressed. Keep in mind that many of these women lack basic necessities that we take for granted, such as an iron.

4. Hang the suits on hangers that you do not mind giving away. This will keep them fresh and prevent wrinkling.

5. Poke a hole in the top of a large trash bag with the head of a hanger and place it over the suit to prevent any stains while in transit from one place to another.

6. Place the suits in the trunk or backseat of your vehicle, one on top of the other with the hangers being placed at the opposite end of the suit below it. For instance, if the hanger of one suit is on the left side of your seat, place the next hanger on the right side of your seat. Stacking the suits in this fashion provides stability and distributes the weight of the suits evenly, helping to prevent the stack from falling over while driving to the donation center.

7. Locate the Downtown Women's Center. The address is 325 S. Los Angeles Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013. Make your donations at this location on weekdays between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. and on the weekends from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. This organization will ensure that your donations land in the hands of women who need them.
