Store Jeans In A Closet

Store jeans correctly, so they last many years.

You finally found that perfect pair of jeans. They fit you just right and make you feel confident. Now that summer is upon you, it is time to pack the jeans away until next season. You want the jeans to look just as good next fall as they do right now, so it is important to take the appropriate storage precautions. Denim is a durable material, but it can succumb to bugs, mold, mildew and fading. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Wash the jeans one last time and allow them to thoroughly dry. Moths are the most troublesome pest and feed off of untreated stains.

2. Fold the jeans and lay them in a plastic storage container. Do not use airtight containers or storage bags; make sure the container can breathe. Place a silica gel packet into the container to absorb excess moisture.

3. Place the storage container in the closet's darkest corner. Light fades jeans and attracts bugs. Use a closet located in one of the main areas of your home, where the temperature does not fluctuate much.

4. Tie three to four large pieces of chalk together with string. Tie the string's loose end to a coat hanger or the closet's hanging rail, near the storage bin. The chalk absorbs moisture, keeping the closet dryer.
