Organize A Closet And Sort Clothes

It can be depressing to open your closet when it is disorganized. The messiness could discourage your creativity when you are trying to put outfits together. When your closet is carefully organized and the clothes are sorted properly, you get a better view of your choices and may be inspired to create attractive new outfits that you haven't thought of before. There is a very simple way to organize your closet and sort your clothes for a visually pleasing and functional result.

Instructions

1. Purchase all of the same types of plastic hangers for your closet in various colors. Uniform sets of hangers helps make the closet look less chaotic. For instance, you can buy five blue, five white, five black and five red hangers. Purchase pants and dresser hangers in various colors as well. This will make it easy for you to refer to your different types of clothes.

2. Coordinate your clothes based on the hanger colors. For instance, you can hang all of your work blouses on red hangers, oversize sweaters on white hangers and casual shirts on blue hangers. Do the same for your various styles of pants that must be hung (like khakis, dress and linen pants) and your dresses.

3. Place your shirts on the left side and your pants on the right side of the pole. Push any dresses to far right and far left sides of the pole. Hang the shirts and pants that you wear most frequently side-by-side in the very middle of the pole so that you can match them together quickly in the morning.

4. Fold your jeans into neat piles and then your casual pants and stack them on the top shelf of your closet. Place the jeans and pants that you wear the most at the top of each pile.

5. Purchase a shoe organizer that hangs from the inside of your closet door. Insert your shoes into the pockets---the most used shoes should be in the middle, the lightweight shoes (like flip flops and sandals) at the top, and the heavier, less used shoes at the bottle. The heavier shoes at the bottom will help keep the shoe rack in place.

6. Place the clothes that you don't plan to wear this season in crates or boxes. Stack them on the floor of your closet under the hanging clothes.
