Find The Closest Hospital

There are thousands of hospitals in the United States. Many large metropolitan areas have numerous hospitals within miles of one another, while more rural areas may not have a hospital within hours. Finding a nearby hospital can be a matter of life and death and can be daunting, whether you live near many hospitals or hours away from any. If you need to find the closest hospital to you, it can be accomplished quickly and easily by following these steps.

Instructions

1. Find the closest hospital using an online hospital search site such as ushospitalfinder.com. Ushospitalfinder.com has the contact information of more than 6,000 hospitals available in their database and allows users to find hospitals based on their specific location. Find a link in References.

2. Call information by dialing 411 and ask for the closest hospital. 411 charges a small fee for their phone services, but they allow you to search their database for free by visiting 411.com.

3. Contact your insurance company. If you have health and medical insurance, a representative will be able to tell you where the closest hospitals in your area are and if they are covered under your specific policy.

4. Call 911 if it's an emergency. An emergency operator will be able to direct you to the nearest hospital, or send help.
