Assemble A Rubbermaid Mailbox

A Rubbermaid mailbox is a quick solution when you need to install a mailbox in front of your home. Made from a durable plastic resin, Rubbermaid mailboxes last for years and require no painting. Assembling a Rubbermaid mailbox is a matter of simply snapping the pieces together. The key is the separate mounting post that the Rubbermaid box slides over like a sleeve. Check with your post office to ensure correct placement and height for mailboxes in your area. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Dig a hole 18 inches deep with a pair of post hole diggers. Insert a 48-inch long 4-inch-by-4-inch salt-treated post. Fill the hole with the removed dirt and tamp it down with your foot.

2. Slide the Rubbermaid mailbox post over the wood post. Push the Rubbermaid post down until the bottom is resting on the ground. Secure the Rubbermaid mailbox post to the wood post with the supplied 3-inch wood screws, using a Phillips-head screwdriver.

3. Slip the mailbox base over the channel on top of the post from the front until it snaps into place.

4. Go to the back of the mailbox base and slide the mailbox sleeve into the side channels of the base until it locks into place. The sleeve is the actual mailbox without the ends.

5. Place one of the mailbox doors over the back of the mailbox. Insert one of the bottom end pins into the slot on the inside of the mailbox. Push the other side of the end piece flush into the mailbox until it locks.

6. Insert the lower pin for the remaining door into the hole on the inside front of the mailbox. Push the other pin into the opposite hole until it locks.
