Diy Install Wire Shelves

Make better use of your closet space by installing wire shelving.

Add wire shelves to a disorganized closet to turn it into an organized storage space. Wire shelves come in kits that consist of wall mounts, brackets and shelves. The brackets have a series of evenly spaced slots into which the brackets lock to provide adjustable shelving options. Wire shelves are ideal storage options because they can be adjusted to adapt to your current storage needs with ease. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Run a stud finder along the wall to locate the wall studs in the general area that you want to mount the shelves. Mark the wall at the stud locations with a pencil.

2. Measure up from the floor to the height that you want to locate the wall mounts. The shelf mounts must be located in the center of a stud, but do not have to be exactly at end of shelves to function. Measure the length of the shelves and locate two studs that will fall within the range of 6 to 8 inches from each end of the shelf length. Align the wall mounts against the wall vertically so that they are perpendicular to the floor and centered in each of the studs you have located as a proper place for the mounts. Place the bottom of the mounts at the pencil mark. Mark the location of the screw holes in the wall mounts onto the wall.

3. Drive the provides screws through the wall mounts into the studs to fasten each wall mount onto the wall.

4. Place the shelf brackets into the wall mount at the same slots on both wall mounts for each shelf. Lock the brackets into place.

5. Align the shelves over each of the brackets and lock them into place. Adjust the shelves as needed as you place the storage items onto the unit by pulling up and the brackets and pulling them out of the wall mount. Insert them into slots at the desired height and lock them into place.
