Simplify A Child'S Wardrobe

A child's wardrobe can get out of control if you aren't careful. It's hard to pass up those precious outfits when you see them in the stores. Simplify your child's wardrobe with a few simples steps, and keep it that way. Life will be more pleasant when you open the closet door to a serene, organized space. 1. Pull all your child's clothes out of his closet and drawers. Sort through everything and make two piles: keep and donate. Don't hang on to things you know your child will never wear or that are outgrown.


2. Make a list. Look carefully at what she already has and add things to your list that will make complete outfits. Don't forget shoes, socks and even hair accessories.


3. Put things back in an organized fashion. Use child-sized plastic clothes hangers. Sort socks and underwear into baskets. Make everything easily accessible. With closet organizers, you can double the space.


4. Plan to shop without your child if possible. After a certain age, children can talk you into buying just about anything.


5. Go with all solids for pants, shorts and skirts. It will make getting dressed and matched much simpler.


6. Repeat this every few months as your child outgrows his things.
