Organize A Craft Area

You can organize a craft area effortlessly and affordably in just a few simple steps. Use items you already have around the house, such as glass jars and baskets, to help organize your craft area without spending hundreds of dollars for a fancy craft organizational system. If you are sick of trying to be creative in a less-than-creative space, get to work and organize your craft area now so you can work more productively and design more creatively later.

Instructions

1. Sort your craft tools into different boxes. For example, place your paint supplies in one box, your scrapbooking supplies in another and so on. If you are dedicated to one craft, further separate your tools and supplies by category. Place your beads in one box, your ribbon and string in another and your jewelry-making tools in yet another.

2. Use a wide drawer storage unit to store paper, stickers, craft tools and other large items that do not easily fit on your crafting table or desk. If you do not have a drawer storage unit available, any old dresser or wardrobe with drawers will work fine.

3. Store pens, pencils, markers and paintbrushes in old jars to save money and space. Decorative pencil holders can also be purchased at your local stationery store fairly affordably if you would prefer to use them instead of jars.

4. Sort chalk applicators, sponges, paint daubers and any other small items, including beads, paper flowers, brads and buttons, into baskets of varying sizes.

5. Store craft magazines, how-to books, supply catalogs and other project instructions in a bookcase or other shelving unit.
