Products For Organizing Clothes In Closets

An organized closet can reduce that morning stress.

Clean out the closet and create an organized space to turn to when it is time to get dressed. Before organizing your clothing, weed out items that you no longer wear, do not fit or must be mended. Clothing in your closet should fit properly so you are not struggling to find something to wear. Consider revamping the entire area and organizing shoes, jewelry and accessories along with the clothing to reduce morning stress. Does this Spark an idea?

Drawers and Shelves

Install drawers to organize small items such as socks, underwear, lingerie, scarves and gloves. Drawers can be installed under shelving or as a stand-alone compartment in the closet. Shelving can be installed along with drawers to hold sweaters, pants, jeans and other items that do not need to be hanged or seasonal items such as gloves and hats. Shelving also could hold baskets for storing slippers and sandals.

Hanging Rods

Hanging rods are standard, but a rod does not have to hang in just one place. Try installing rods that attach to center shelving or are leveled at different heights. Section a walk-in closet to include an area for long dresses and suits, an area for hanging pants or skirts and an area for shirts. Rods also could hold jewelry organizers and garment bags used to store items that are not worn often.

Garment Bags and Jewelry Organizers

Garment bags offer a dust-free environment for items such as suits and dresses that aren't worn frequently. Garment bags can be easily folded and are another option for storing rarely used items in the closet. Jewelry bags are similar to garment bags. They have small pouches for necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings that make searching for accessories easier. Jewelry bags also can be folded.

Shoe Rack

Hang a shoe rack on the back of the closet door to organize shoes. These racks typically hold up to 30 shoes; however, there are racks that are smaller and larger to accommodate the size of the door. If door storage is not an option, consider a shoe rack for the floor. These typically hold up to 12 pairs of shoes. Shoe racks also can be stacked for more storage if necessary.

Towel Rack and Hooks

Towel racks come in handy for storing ties and scarves. Ties and scarves also can be draped on a tie rack simply by sliding them over the bar. Another option is hooks that can be attached to the backs of doors, under shelving or on walls. Hooks can hold caps, purses, ties, scarves and robes.
