Build A Portable Clothes Closet

Neatly store clothes on the move.

A portable closet is a terrific way to store your clothes neatly while camping or traveling. It can be difficult to travel with large bulky items, so it is important to minimize the amount of space your closet will take up. Fortunately, it is extremely simple to assemble, disassemble and travel with a homemade portable closet.

Instructions

1. Attach four of the six-inch dowel rods into a 5-way PVC pipe. Use the four openings that point outward in four opposite ways, in the north, south, east and west directions. Set the PVC pipe up like a stand, with the remaining opening pointing straight up. Repeat this process on the other 5-way PVC pipe using the remaining six-inch rods.

2. Insert a six-foot dowel rod into the remaining upward-pointing slot in each of the PVC pipes. Space the stands approximately six feet apart from each other.

3. Attach the elbow PVC pipes to the tops of the six-foot rods, and point the ends toward one another. Connect the two ends of the stand by attaching the final six-foot rod to each of the elbow PVC pipes' open ends.

4. Check to make sure the closet rack is stable. You should be able to safely hang your clothes on the horizontal bar.
