Size A Closet Organizer

Installing your own closet organizer or hiring someone to install one is impossible if you do not know the size of your closet. Closet organizers are designed based on the measurements of your closet. If your measurements are incorrect, you could end up with a closet organizer that is too large to fit into your closet. You may also end up with a closet organizer so small that you cannot maximize your closet space. You should always check your measurements twice to account for any misreading of the tape measure. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Empty your closet. The closet where you are installing the organizer cannot have any clothing or furniture in it or you may distort your measurements.

2. Measure the depth of your closet. Place one end of the tape measure against your closet's back wall and hold in place. Stretch the tape measure across to the opposite wall and make note of the measurement. If your closet is very deep, have an assistant hold the measuring tape against the wall for you.

3. Measure the width of your closet. Have an assistant hold the measuring tape against one side of your closet while you extend the tape to the other end. Make a note of this measurement.

4. Use the width and depth measurements when designing or purchasing your closet organizer.
