Help A Kid Match Clothing

Help a Kid Match Clothing

As you teach your child the art of matching clothing, keep it simple to start so you aren't rushed and your kids don't get frustrated. If a child's wardrobe is simple, her choices are easier. With this in mind, stay away from crazy patterns and clashing hues when you pick out clothing.

Instructions

1. Explain that similar colors go well together. If your child isn't sure, he knows that blue shirts will match blue pants.

2. Teach her that jeans go with all colors of shirts, and that some colors match everything like black, white and gray. You can put these colors with any other colors and they will always match nicely.

3. Work with your kids to reorganize their closets and dresser drawers so that outfits go together. That way, he can take his time deciding what goes with what without feeling rushed in the morning. Group the outfits you create on one hanger so he can grab it and get ready on his own.

4. Use a dot system to help guide your kids when matching clothes. Put a specific sticker on the tag of one pair of pants, and a matching sticker on the tag of all of the shirts that match that pair of pants. She can then check the tags to match her clothes.

5. Put up a basic color wheel on the closet door. Ask him to choose a shirt and find that color on the wheel. He can then look at the colors on either side to find out what color pants or shorts he should select.
