Make Your Clothes Drawer Or Closet Smell Lovely

Add some pleasant aromas to your clothes drawer or closet.

Aromatherapy advocates have long touted medicinal benefits of essential oils. Combinations of pleasant-smelling natural substances can also have practical benefits. For instance, a combination of rosemary, lemongrass and lavender helps repel moths from your clothes. Potpourri, sachets and perfumes can all be employed to make your drawers and closet smell like a five-star hotel. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Stand in front of your closet whenever you apply perfume. This way, a little perfume will freshen up your closet. Do this only once or twice a week so you don't overwhelm your closet with fragrance.

2. Place dryer sheets in your drawers. Any kind of dryer sheet will do. You can also use this trick for clothing storage bins or to keep your suitcases smelling fresh.

3. Purchase a potpourri satchet. You can find these just about anywhere. Supermarkets, lingerie stores, department stores, candle shops and natural foods shops are just a few of the many places where you can purchases these items. A simple dry potpourri consists of dried flowers, scented leaves, peel and spices. Put them in both drawers or in the closet.

4. Do some "airing out" of your clothes. If you wear your clothes more than once before washing them, hang them up overnight before returning them to your drawers or closet. This will air them out. As an alternative, use a clothesline.

5. Find that pretty soap that you've been saving. If you have a fancy hotel soap that you just can't bring yourself to use, unwrap the soap and place it in your clothing drawers or on a shelf in your closet. (Also, during the holidays, many perfume companies offer complimentary soap that smells like the perfume you are purchasing.)
