Rubbermaid FastTrack shelving is a wire closet shelving system that uses a horizontal railing to hold the uprights in place. The wire shelves click down over the mounting brackets. The horizontal railing is the only part of the shelf that needs to be secured to the wall. You can use these closet systems in your wardrobe, linen closet, pantry, garage, and bathroom. The shelves come in white, but you can spray paint them if you want another color. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Mark the spot on the wall where you want to install the horizontal mounting rail. It should be 2 inches higher than the desired height of the shelving.
2. Use a stud finder to locate the studs at the height you want to install the mounting rail. Mark the studs with a pencil, using a level as a straight edge so all the marks are even.
3. Hold the mounting rail up to your marks and adjust it so as many screw holes are over studs as possible. Secure the mounting rail in place by screwing the provided screws through the holes with an electric drill and screwdriver.
4. Click the uprights onto the mounting rail by lowering the notch in the end of the upright over the lip on the mounting rail. Space the uprights 24 to 36 inches apart.
5. Hold the first shelving bracket at a 45 degree angle with the back facing the left upright. Slip the back notches into the holes of the upright that are at the height you want the shelf.
6. Push the bracket down until it clicks into place and is level horizontally. Repeat with the second bracket on the right upright, using the holes at the same height.
7. Place the wire shelf on top of the bracket so the front to back wiring is parallel to the bracket. Push the shelf down into the bracket, and back into the wall until the back lip of the shelf clicks into the notch on the back of the bracket.
