Suddenlink cable service delivers television programming through a descrambler box that connects to a TV for enjoying paid programming. The Suddenlink cable box is equipped with audio-video jacks for hooking up different audio-video components, including a VCR. When a VCR is connected between the cable box and a TV, the VCR can be used to record shows for later viewing or to view videocassettes. The connection requires two standard AV cables.
Instructions
1. Push the yellow, white and red plugs on one end of the cables into the audio-video output jacks on the back panel of the Suddenlink cable box. The yellow plug connects to the video jack; white and red connect to the left and right audio jacks, respectively.
2. Plug the other ends of the cable into the Record or AV Input jacks on the VCR back panel. This connection is used for recording programs or transmitting the cable signal to the television.
3. Hook up the second set of composite cables from the VCR's AV output or Playback jacks to a set of AV input jacks on the television.
4. Turn on the Suddenlink box, the VCR and TV, then set the TV channel to 3 or 4, depending on the VCR model. Check the VCR instruction manual for setting the correct channel.
5. Press the "Input" button on the TV remote control until the signal from the Suddenlink cable box appears on the TV screen.
