Measuring the Length of the Wire Wall Basket
1. Place the basket onto a table. Place the end of the tape measure next to the basket's top end. A flat measurement will help your measuring to be exact. The length measurement is the longest measurement from one point to another on any object. In measuring objects, sometimes the length is also the height measurement.
2. Hold the end of the tape measure against the table, with the tape measure end aligned with the basket's top end Stretch the tape measure flat against the table, along the side of the wire basket, to the basket's bottom end. Tape measures are used to measure length, width, and depth.
3. Look at the inch number/measurement that aligns with the basket's bottom end. Write the length measurement onto paper with a pencil. According to Quality Logo Products, the top half of a tape measure is divided into inches and feet. The bottom half uses metric measurements of millimeters, centimeters, and meters.
Measuring the Width of the Wire Wall Basket
4. Place the tape measure, horizontally, on top of a table.
5. Place the wire wall basket on top of the tape measure, aligning the end of the tape measure with the left side of the wire wall basket. Hold the end of the tape measure, while pulling the side of the tape measure emerging from under the right side of the basket until the tape measure is straight.
6. Look at the measurement/inch number directly under the widest point of the right side of the wire wall basket. This is the width measurement. Write the width measurement onto a piece of paper with a pencil.
Measuring the Depth of the Wire Wall Basket
7. Place the basket onto a table. Hold the end of the tape measure to the table, lifting the tape measure up toward you.
8. Move the tape measure to the section of the wall basket that protrudes the farthest towards you, from the flat surface. Align the tape measure with this outer edge of the basket.
9. Write down the depth measurement of the basket. The depth, in the case of the basket, is the measurement from the front to the basket back.
